Meet and Greets
The free meet and greet, is a no obligation consultation so I can get to know you and your dog! This usually takes place at your home so I can meet your pet in a comfortable environment for the first time and lasts 30 minutes.
This is a great opportunity for me to answer all of your questions, we will cover all of your pets needs, health issues, temperament, walking habits and how they interact with other dogs and people.
You will receive a welcome pack which includes my qualifications, DBS check and insurance certificate. This will also contain service policies and pricing as well as some forms for you to go over and sign should you decide you'd like to proceed after our chat!
I will never pressure anyone to take on services as I understand it can sometimes be a nervous process finding someone you're comfortable with to look after your beloved pets.
First aid and canine care
I am fully canine first aid trained and I will always carry a canine first aid kit with me on walks as well as in the Muddy Buddies van. We will go over any medical conditions and allergies your dog has in the meet and greet before the first walk/visit. I have a certification in dog walking and pet sitting with the accredited NARPS UK association as well as a Level 2 Canine first aid certification with Buddiepet pro trainings.
What would you do in an emergency?
My first contact would be yourself whilst on route to the vet, if the owner cannot be contacted then I will continue onto the vets whilst still trying to get in touch.
I will take your dog's vet contact details, as well as an emergency contact number if I cannot reach you in any case of accident or emergency. I keep first aid kits in the Muddy Buddies van, and on my person during walks, I am also trained in pet CPR.
Where will you walk my dog?
Muddy Buddies offer a variety of walks, if your dog is on a (LOCAL 30/45 mins/1 hour) walks begin after pick up within 2 miles of the household or on foot from your home, we can go over any preferred routes your dog is familiar with otherwise a route can be sent to you on the text update once the walk has begun.
If your dog is in a 1 hour (FOREST) walk, I will take them into the beautiful New forest! On warmer days this will be shaded, cooler areas. These routes are disclosed in my text photo updates along with a snap of your pup on their outdoor adventure!
I walk in all weathers but rest assured your dog will be given a good clean with my portable pet washer and dry/wipe down before home time!
How do your home visits work?
I offer home visits for 15 or 30 minutes, for added additional time we can discuss availability in our meet and greet. We can also discuss what your dog needs in these visits, whether it's a garden/bathroom break, feeding or just a quick play time and a cuddle!
Muddy Buddies insurance policy includes key cover, if you would prefer key(s) be returned after service this is not charged for and can be discussed during the meet and greet. Muddy Buddies will not leave keys in an unsecure location after services i.e under flower pots, outside of customers home, or with a representative the customer has not approved and granted signed release to.
Muddy Buddies will safeguard all customers key(s) in a manner consistent with that of the professional pet/home service industry, which includes tagging, coding and storing of key(s) in locked storage.
What do you supply on walks?
Your pup will have their own water bowl, fresh water, clean towel/bedding and treats (with written consent by owner)
All dogs are cleaned with a Mud Daddy portable pet washer should they need it, and given a good wipe down before home time!
If on a 1 hour walk (FOREST) I will pick your pup up from your home and travel in the Muddy Buddies van to start our forest route.
All pets will be safely secured in the vehicle at all times when travelling.
The Muddy Buddies van is well lit, air conditioned and fitted with crash tested crates to ensure safety while travelling, as well as clean matts and bedding (cool matts are also used in the warmer weather) If your pet is unsure about being crated there is an additional space for them to feel more comfortable that they can be tethered to or upfront seating whilst in a seatbelt harness. This can be discussed in the meet and greet.
